Skyla spun in a tiny circle as she entered the splendidly furnished living room. Antique couches, side tables and lamps brought an air of cozy, yet sophisticated living to the grand room. Hudge windows on the far wall allowed the friendly sunshine to filter through and bask the room in it's warm glory.
She grinned and found a seat on one of the high-back armchairs, covered in a rich material, woven with warm colors and thick padding on every surface not covered with finely detailed wood. It was like a dream, as she peered around the room with excitement, to live in such an amazingly beautiful place.
She giggled again, despite herself. A flash of color caught her attention to the left and she craned in her seat, "Well hello!" she exclaimed cheerily...

Surveying every single angle of the living room, Eloisa felt increasingly more restless. She was getting closer and closer to the after stage of “sleepy” – most commonly known as hyperactive. This mansion was so huge, and so far she had only seen... very few rooms. Her short, blonde hair had been combed before she left her bedroom, and she had taken off her outdoor jacket to reveal her slightly pale skin and her (one and only) designer top. It was a white tank top with black stripes down the sides, and also black threads that made up a corsety pattern on the back. She also wore light blue jeans that fit her perfectly, and a white and black belt to match her top. All in all, she looked a lot better now than when she had first arrived.
“OH, MY GOD!” Eloisa nearly screamed as a girl spoke up. She thought she was alone, but apparently not. Knowing she must have sounded like a first class wimp the way she reacted, she immediately started laughing. “Geez, I thought I was alone!” Scratching the back of her head in embarrassment, she smiled warmly at the girl, not even close to thinking about introducing herself.

"I'm sorry!" Sky quickly appolagised, covering her mouth in surprise. Her vision quickly scanned the girl before her, and Skyla lept to her feet, "I love your shirt." she added. Clasping her hands infront of her, she pursed her lips and rocked back and forth in her slipper-clad feet. Her legs adorned in beige corderoys and a pink tee-shirt on her top with a v-neck and a few beads around it's collar, "It's beautiful, isn't it?" She flicked a stray lock of brown hair over her shoulder and smiled as her gaze once again wandered the room.

“Oh, no, don’t apologize!” Eloisa hurried to say. She blushed as her shirt was commented. “Thank you...” She stuttered, not all together used to compliments. Her eyes automatically fell down to look at her top. Her mom had given it to her so that she could make a good first impression. Looking around the room, she answered the question more because she felt it would be rude to say something else than because she felt it herself. “Yeah, it is...” Of course the place was beautiful, no doubt on that, she just wasn’t so fond of first class. She felt like she would break something if she just stared at it for too long. Brushing these thoughts away, she remembered she hadn’t introduced herself, nor did she have any clue who she was talking to.
“Uh, I’m Eloisa!” She didn’t know where to put her hands, so she put her left hand in the pocket of her jeans, and she reached the other one out for the girl to shake.

"Oh! Lovely name! I'm Skyla." she grabbed the other girl's hand and shook it gently. Pulling back she tucked her hands into the small of her back. For some reason Eloisa didn't quite look comfortable with her surroundings- as though perhaps she might appreciate a bit of bubblewrap to pad her from the elegant antiques that encompassed them. Skyla covered an amused smirk as she pictured it.
She herself had been so used to elegant, breathtaking things- though luckily had never grown to unappreciate their glory. In fact; it was much easier to focus on beautiful 'things' than the rather ugly people who happened to have been in her life. Aye- t'was always much more simple to admire a vase than to try and figure a troubling person's reason behind some sort of deed.
Quickly recovering from those thoughts; that would no doubt lead down a train of thinking she didn't want to follow- she sent Eloisa a lop-sided smile, "Have you gotten a room yet? Oh and a roomie? I have one... though I hate to think she doesn't apprecaite my...." what was the word? Peppyness? Over-exhuberance? Theatrics?
"Dramatics." she chose, and smiled sheepishly with a shrug.

Eloisa started to wonder if every girl on this place was overly happy. Wasn’t it any down-to-earth rock-on skater girls around here? Of course it’s nice to have people like that around, but she'd feel kind of alone if she was the only one who'd spend a several hours a week doing things that could risk her breaking something. Picturing herself squirming in a torn bush while the others were inside being too busy playing cards to notice, wasn't a thought she was willing to keep for too long. “Yeah, I have a roommate... Layla, you met her?” Remembering the talkative roommate, she had to smile.

"Nope, haven't met anyone here really..." she shrugged, "I was sort of hoping there'd be a get-together or something, so we could all mingle. You know?" It was a favorite activity of Sky's- to host parties, or even just attend them. It had always been much easier for her to enterain an entire group of people, than to have a one-on-one conversation. You could be anyone you wanted, and do anything you'd like in a hudge group of rowdy teens.
However, when only one person stood before you- and attentions were grasped so firmly... it was hard to conceil tiny parts of you, and the other would inadvertantly descover you were either not who you claimed to be, or you were a very odd specimen indeed. And so, Skyla had always elected to stay in large groups- call it security if you will.

Eloisa nodded in understanding. She was hoping for a get-together as well. “Well, I don’t think everyone’s here yet... Will probably wait till tonight with the ‘ceremony’” She smiled comforting. Suddenly feeling kind of rude just staring at her, Eloisa turned her head to look around the room. “So what do you think you can do around here?” She walked over to a fluffy couch and bumped into it. She was getting increasingly more restless, and the need to have something to do was growing on her. She leaned back in the couch and lay her head down so that she could see what was going on behind her. What she saw was upside-down, but at least she saw something.

Skyla nodded slowly- that made sense, but she hadn't heard about this 'ceremony'. Oh well- she'd just follow Eloisa there. With a tiny chirp, she plopped herself back onto the arm chair gracefully, "Um... I'm not exactly sure. I heard there was a recreation room of sorts... in the basement." she shuddered at the word. While she hadn't been there- the thought of a basement in a giant mansion was not overly appealing. Pictures of torture dungeons and cold, damp stone came to mind. While she was sure that a place as finely furnished as this- with all it's grand finery, antiques, beautiful plush carpets and splendidly crafted woodwork, would not harbor a dungeon beneath it- the pictures couldn't be quelled. "I suppose we could explore!" she suddenly suggested, a hint of excitement catching a ride on the tones of her voice.

A smile spread across Eloisa’s face as the proposition about exploring the rec room came up. That room sounded a lot more interesting than this one, and Eloisa didn’t feel like wasting time talking crap. Jumping up from the coach, she stood on the floor, pretty much glowing all over. “Let’s hit it!” She said merrily. She walked to the exit of the room and stopped to see if Skyla was following. Exploring was always a lot more fun with company than alone. Her eyes glinted in a way that everyone would come to fear after a while at the mansion. It always had the same meaning: I want excitement, and I will do anything to get it!

Skyla lept off the couch and bounded after Eloisa with bubbly enthusiasm. What fun they would have! Perhaps they'd get lost- on second thought, the mansion wasn't QUITE big enough for that. She grinned and nodded, reaching the doorway only steps behind her newfound friend.
