Aiden sauntered down a winding row of stairs into a rather cool basement. Each step had it's own destinct creak. As he listened to them, wich each foot-fall, he smiled- one of the many charms such a grand mansion could offer. He brushed a strand of hair from his forehead and studied the room. Standing on the second-to-last step, he had a perfect view of the entire 'Rec Room'.
Two large couches lined two of the four walls, a hudge screen television across from one of them. He grinned- ah, back to reality. No antiques down here- he assured himself as he took the last two steps.
His feet, in skater-type shoes strode over a plush carpet. Blue-jean clad legs swished lightly as he made his way to the couch. Noticing a dart board on the way over, he paused infront of it, "Nice." he remarked, tracing a few of the bullseye type patterns with his fingers before picking up the small container of darts.
Finishing his trek to the couch, he collapsed onto it- the darts in his lap. Kicking off his shoes, he propped one foot on the low coffee-table between the couch and television- the other on the ground infront of him. Taking aim, he let one dart wiz through the air- missing the center of the target by a good few inches. Furrowing his brow- Aiden was about to let the second one go when the farmiliar creak of the stairs sounded- breaking his concentration.
Lifting his head, he sent a small 'salute' type gesture to the figure at the top of the stairs, "Hello."

Jake scuffed the foot of the stairs as he climbed down. Geez, did this guy have a sixth sense or something? Straightening his shoulders and pulling a hand through his hair, Jake nodded to the guy.
||I'm Jake. Saw you having some of my cousin's food today. She's a fair cook, as long as it doesn't come to toast. Couldn't toast a slice of bread to save her life||
Jake laughed, a deep laugh. He looked around, at the basement. Homely... actually, not too bad. The name 'Basement' had him worried. But it wasn't bad. Not at all.

Aiden nodded, "Ah- Layla? She's a pretty good cook, she told me about her exploits in toast." he laughed and threw another dart- this one landing only a tad closer to it's desired mark. Aiden furrowed his brow in concentration, "I'm-" he let it fly through the air, "-Aiden." The sleek tip of the dark quickly found the second ring from the center. Aiden grinned and pumped a fist in the air. Sitting up, he removed his foot from the table, and replaced it with the small box of darts. Propping his elbows on his knees he turned to Jake, "Find anything overly interesting here yet? Other than a bunch of chicks fawning over scenery and 'beautiful antiques'?" he almost laughed, but managed to quell it- remembering one of those 'chicks' was Layla, and he should probably not offend her, obviously older, cousin.

Jake grinned. Obviously another guy on the same wavelength as him. He had never got that flowers deal. Honestly, they were just bloody flowers. Little things that grew out of the ground, like thorns. Yet you didn't see girls cooing over them.
||You're talking about Layla, right? Nah, can't say I have. Apart from you, of course. Hey, nice shot||
Jake picked up the box of darts aswell, shooting and driving it into the wall so it left a slight dent. He smiled guiltily.
||Oops. My bad. ||

Aiden laughed, "I'm terrible at darts- it was a lucky shot." he assured Jake, "I'm thinking once everyone arrives and gets settled in- things are going to get pretty interesting. It's almost like Survivor or one of those other reality TV shows." he tipped a brow, "In fact- I'm keeping an eye out for cameras." he laughed at his own, rather lame, joke and settled back into the couch.
His feet found the coffee table again and he relaxed- Now he had at least two allies. Even if they weren't 'friends' so to speak, they were at least a good lop above enemies- and at least for now, that was all Aiden could hope for.

Angel in Waiting Her white K-Swiss trainers were slack on her feet and as she opened the door down into the rec room she stepped down a step and slmost lost her footing. Inside she cursed, on the outside she appeared no different and just carried on walking down the stairs. I'm keeping an eye out for cameras. Was all Katie got as she came down the stairs. Cameras? nah, he must have been joking with someone. It wasn't until both her feet landef firmly on the floor that she noticed there was two guys in. Instantly she became a little bit shy and dropped her gaze down to the floor. Her finger nails brushed over her white Selfridges Combats and she looked up. Her hair swirling around and over her shoulders as she did she looked at the two of them and gave each of them a small wihte smile as she walked fruther into the room. Although she may not seem any different from what she should look like, inside she was embarrased and very shy, after all, she wasn't the type of girl who could walk into a room full of people and spark up a conversation. She ran her right hand through her sleekly straight hair and carefully sat back into to sofa which the others weren't on.

Aiden lifted his head as the girl entered, he lent her a smile and passed a half-eye-roll to Jake, "Hello." he said shortly to her. He supposed there wouldn't be much privacy here, so best get along with everyone, or at least not pick any fights. Reaching around Jake, he grabbed another dart and shot it towards the board. The outer ring claimed it's tip and glared at Aiden angrily, he sighed, "What'd I tell you? Lucky shot."

Katie looked up from where her eyes were on her trainers, her baby blue eyes looked to the guy who had spoken to her. Or at least she thought he was speaking to her. Hello She looked at him and smiled gently, Hi. She said, as she spoke these soft delicate words her head tilted somewhat and some of her hair cascaded down over her Von Dutch White T-Shirt. She watched as the guy slung the dart at the dart board, as it hit it inside she winced, remembering the sound of the bullet killing her mother and father. What'd I tell you? Lucky shot She just smiled gently at the two abd minded her own business.

Jake grinned. Too right... he was about to reply when a girl came into the room. He saw Aiden pass a annoyed roll of the eyes to him and gave a exasperated inwards sigh. Was this what it was going to be like all the time? Not even getting through a conversation when people come in and break it up? They couldn't talk when a girl was in here. It just ruined it.
The girl seemed shy, and a bit awkward. She was dressed almost completely in white, which was a bit of a shock in the slightly gloomy mansion. She looked like Layla, except maybe a bit younger and shorter. Maybe they'd become friends. Hopefully not, he thought. The they'd be walking around everywhere arm in arm, and it would be so annoying and hard to get his cousing on her own. Girls. Why do they have to travel in groups?
||Hello||
He added to the girl, giving her a slight smile, nodding at Aiden and sitting back in the couch boredly. No need to be rude to everyone, especially as he was just as much of a loner as they all were.

Aiden sent Jake another smirk and reached for the remote controll. No more 'guy-talk' now. He shrugged off the annoyance and sent the girl another smile, "Sit down if you like." he offered. A sports-channel was quickly found, and Aiden glanced at Jake, "Mind hockey?" he questioned, tossing the remote onto the couch beside his male counterpart, and settling deeper into the folds of the comfortable couch. Turning his attention to the tv screen he furrowed his brow; Avalanches were down 1-2 against the Flames. He threw another dart, missing the target by only two rings he smiled and waited for the intermission to finish. Probably the best time for conversation- he elected, "Uh, I'm Aiden by the way." he said to the girl- who he now noticed was rather attractive. No- he wasn't going to fool around with any of that sort of stuff. He was here for a case study, not to flirt of make goo-goo eyes at girls he didn't know.

Jake leaned back. He had never been a hockey kind of guy. More into rugby or soccer. And he had a strange facination with croquet. Don't ask me. But he was willing to sit and watch. Since he wasn't used to watching hockey, he went for the Flames, mainly because they were winning. He thought back to the last time he had watched sport. At Uni. Sitting there with Holly. Jake sighed. They had just... split. He hadn't known what it is. One day Holly was there, the next day she wasn't. He'd never understand girls.
||Aiden. I'm sure she'd much rather NOT sit on a seat with two lounging guys watching hockey||

"Um... true." Aiden grimaced with the reality and flipped his gaze to the girl, "Want to watch something else... or um..." he was at a loss. He'd never been one to entertain guests- it was probably easy enough to see why. He dropped his feet to the ground and leaned against his knees, pursing his lips as he thought. What now? Dang, but he was terrible at this. He hated being put on the spot, "What would you suggest, Jake?" he sent the other guy a crooked smile and a tipped eyebrow.

Jake glared at him good-naturedly, but with a message: Why'd you have to put this on me? But poor Aiden seemed to be struggling. He didn't know girls well enough. Poor guy.
||You wouldn't want to hang around with guys like us. I have a cousin here. If you really want to know someone here, I could introduce you guys?||
Jake had a note of hopefulness in his voice. Maybe she would. Then both Layla and the girl would have a friend. That'd be good. Apart from the whole friends deal.

Aiden relaxed into the couch and folded his hands over his stomach; good idea- find her a girlfriend to go giggle with. Then they can team up and hunt in pairs. He frowned and studied the far wall- quite a few dings and dents marred the painted drywall behind the dart-board. Apparently it wasn't a well-practiced sport, and many people had poor aim like Jake and Aiden.
He sighed and his gaze darted back to the girl, who's name was still unknown to him. He blew out a breath and waited...

Jake stood up suddenly. It was getting very boring sitting here doing nothing. Well, they couldn't do anything while she was in here. It spolied the guy-ness of it all. You know, guys need to know they're strong and reliable. But with a girl in the room, it marred their masculinity. Nuh uh. No go.
||Aiden, I'm gonna go now. See ya mate||
So Jake turned and strode off up to his room.
